I am now in New York City and it is great to be back!
Tomorrow I am going to travel to Baltimore, MD to attend the graduation ceremony of a private high school. After looking into public and private schools in the Baltimore/Washington DC area, I will be returning to NYC to look at technology in schools and meet teachers, administrators and students. I also will be exploring some of the learning aid developed by publishers to augment their paper-based products. Also in NYC, I will be visiting a few large language schools that teach English to immigrants to examine how they use technology in their certified language programs.
I will be travelling to the Princeton area to visit a testing institute and other high schools there - again, investigating different hybrid learning forms in schools. Following these visits, I will be travelling to St. Louis, MO to check out the technology and blended learning situation there. This involves a lot of travel, but I am sure it will be an extremely informative trip. I look forward to meeting a varity of professionals and students and learning how the application of technology works in American schools. I am especially interested in how these technologies are blended, what role school book publishers play and how school cultures differ both within the US and in contrast to European school cultures.
