After the BESIG conference, while I was still in Berlin, I finally got to briefly meet someone who I had 'known' for over a year - virtually.  Ina Schiffhauer heads Deutschdirekt, an online learning platform for learners of German. We have been meeting regularly in skype to discuss learning issues related to virtual environments. This was our first 'real' meeting, but we both agreed that this seemed like a completely natural continuation of our virtual relationship. We both knew each other, although we had not previously met.  What a weird world :-)

Ina is doing a lot of exciting things in the blended learning area. She has recently finished her blended learning project for 'Berlin-Stadt des Wissens' and has now moved on to working with the 'Virtual Akademie Brandenburg.'  Whether virtual or f2f,  Ina's  experience in virtual learning environments always informs an engaging dialogue!
