  • Tim Phillips of SKYLIGHT GmbH has invited U.S. English Services to take on the blended learning module of the CLTC-C Program that SKYLIGHT is running to certify quality foreign language instructors. The first clients I will be involved with will be instructors from Bosch. In module 3, the blended learning module of the program, the language trainers learn how to:
    • assess the appropriateness of applying e-learning tools and blended learning concepts for different learners and groups
    • integrate e-learning into the language learning environment
    • understand how e-learning tools work and how e-learning content can be effectively deployed
    • develop their own material with simple authoring tools
    • make use of synchronous technologies (telephone tutoring, virtual classroom) and know how to put them into practice
    • apply asynchronous technologies (e-mail, learning management platforms, discussion forum)
    • integrate blended learning concepts into their course design, including scenarios
    • understand their roles as distance learning tutors or telecoach
    • monitor and evaluate progress via a learning management system
    • motivate their learners and support them in becoming autonomous learners
I look forward to motivating fellow trainers to use all of the great tools available to increase the effectiveness of what they do. It will also be an exciting and distinct pleasure to be on a team with people like Nick Brieger, York associates; Stefan Gee, Gee Language Services and Tim Phillips, SKYLIGHT GmbH.
Our enthusiasm for blended learning is contagious!
