- I am back in New York City again visiting some associates, continuing work on the image data base and making some recordings. This visit to the USA will take me to Princeton, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C.
The tip of the Empire State Building
- I am launching another series of business English courses on a moodle platform for an automotive component supplier in Germany. The platform will host five course levels and include a total of seven different courses. Two specialist courses, English for the Automotive Industry and English for Human Resources will be included. Both courses will employ the excellent short course books of the same titles by Cornelsen Publishing as the print module of the blend.
The blended learning program will be introduced in stages over the next two months. The F2F modules will still play a major role as the client is uncertain about the introduction of virtual live elements at this point. The trainees are enthusiastic about the prospects of being able to learn on their own time and from wherever they want. Take up of the program has been fast; most of the participants have posted profiles and photos within just a few days! If only every company culture fostered such quick action...
- We are starting the evaluation process for the trainees who participated in the LANCELOT project. This involves reviewing captured virtual classroom sessions that the participants conducted. The criteria is tough, but most of the participants are enthusiastic professionals, so the task is more a pleasure than a chore!
- I can now speak about 30 Chinese phrases thanks to survivalphrases.com! I am sure this will be a great help in China.
- I am currently reading: Never Eat Alone by Kieth Ferrazzi
