  • I am now in second life, but I keep getting distracted by the very environment itself. I have learned to walk and fly so far. There is a lot of uncertainty about the potentials of this environment for learning so I just had to come in look around and say "Boo!" myself. I am undecided. My initial enthusiasm died out after only a couple of days. If you want to chat in there, my second life name is " Zikie Zenkova."

  • The LANCELOT pilot test has begun. 24 trainees (professional language teachers) in over 13 countries are now taking part in testing the 120-hour LANCELOT course for language learning in virtual classrooms.
The trainees are located in:
                •  Austria
                • Germany
                • Sweden
                • the Czech Republic
                • Italy
                • Turkey
                • Spain
                • Romania
                • Estonia
                • Egypt
                • Ukraine
                • Argentina
                •  Mexico
During the following three months, mentors and trainers Michael Tighe (U.S. English Services) and Heike Philp (Let's Talk Online) will meet 12 of them every Wednesday morning in various virtual classrooms for the synchronous group sessions. The trainees will also work through synchronous peer-to-peer activities asynchronous reading and writing activities.

  • Learning software. The issue is, as always, can the solution stand up to rapid developments in the open source universe?

  • Like Tim Saunders, I too believe that love is the killer app. I love connecting people when I think it will help both parties get ahead on the way to where they are going. This is just part of what we do in business. Sooner or later, we all encounter "takers + users."  This can be a disappointing experience. So, for these people, I would like to list a link to Tim's book.  Please enjoy reading!
