U.S. English Services will provide most of the images used in the LMS for the LANCELOT project from its own image data base. Funding was not available for the purchasing of rights from other image data bases, so I decided to provide my own imagery at no cost. Surprisingly, some of partner institutions were even against the use of imagery on the learning platform. The importance of visuals in any learning program is so well-established by research that I felt compelled to take this step and to argue strongly in favor of imagery. The images are made available under creative commons agreement. My overriding aim ís to create an attractive and effective program for the learners. As the cliché expression goes "A picture is worth a thousand words".
