I returned from online educa in Berlin after having seen presentations from morning to night. I learned a lot and had a chance to catch up with many old friends and meet many new ones. The general buzz was extremely optimistic, yet the emphasis was still tilted towards classic e-learning. I believe more emphasis has to be placed on live online communities and the dynamics of real blended learning. Of course, that involves trainers, community developers, i.e. real people. Product producers naturally want to create stand-alone solutions that do not rely on any human intervention - what a conundrum.
The highlights of the conference for me: Prof. Gilly Salmon's Knowledge Cafe and Dr. Wim Westera's presentation: The E-learning Cabaret: Dos and Don'ts in E-learning Design.
